Shaving cream is used by men prior to the shaving to wet and soften the beard. Shaving Creams are basically soaps composed of sodium and potassium stearate, mixed with water and glycerol to give a creamy texture.
As per the relevant Indian Standard there are two types of shaving creams namely; Type 1 – Lather, Type 2 – Brushless.
Now a days gel type are also popular especially to attract young.
Aqua (water), stearic acid, myristic acid, potassium hydroxide, coconut acid, glycerin, triethanolamine, parfum (fragrance) and sodium hydroxide.
VOICE Society conducted comparative testing on 8 brands of Shaving Cream as per national standard in an independent, NABL accredited laboratory. The brands tested are Axe, Park Avenue, Godrej, Detoll, Reliance, Old Spice,Vi John, Gillittee .
The test program for comparative testing is mainly based on relevant national standard IS:9740 to evaluate the 8 popular brands of Shaving Creams (Lather Type).The testing was conducted in a reputed NABL accredited laboratory.
